Your Privacy Matters

It's Simple was built around the belief that your inner work is yours. This policy explains exactly what we store, where, and why — so you can decide what's right for you.

What Stays On Your Device

Almost everything you create lives on your device first: your achievements, affirmations, insights, meditations, routines, favorites, and the original copy of every voice recording. The app works without an account — if you never sign in, nothing leaves your phone.

What We Store In The Cloud (And Why)

When you sign in (with Apple, Google, or email), we create an account so your work survives reinstalls and new devices. Signing in lets us store:

• Account: your sign-in identifier (Apple/Google ID or email), display name, and sign-in timestamps.
• Profile: your chosen path, birthday (month/day if you provided one), language preference, and app version. Used to personalize content and to recover your profile on a new device.
• Voice recordings: each voice you record (mom, sister, partner, etc.) is backed up to your private cloud account so you don't lose it on a new phone. You can turn this backup off anytime in Settings → Privacy → Cloud backup.
• Feedback you submit through the in-app form.

We do not run analytics. We do not track behavior across sessions. We don't have ads.

Who Can See Your Data

Only you. Cloud storage is scoped to your account — server rules enforce that no other user (and no one without your sign-in credentials) can read your voices, your path, or your profile. We do not sell or share data with advertisers.

A Note On Encryption

Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest using Google Cloud's standard server-side encryption. It is not end-to-end encrypted — meaning Firebase, as our infrastructure provider, technically holds the encryption keys. If end-to-end encryption matters to you, you can keep Cloud backup turned off in Settings; everything then stays local-only.

Sharing Feature

When you choose to share an item with someone via a link, only the selected content is temporarily uploaded and stored for 7 days, then automatically deleted. Shared content is accessible only to people you send the link to. Nothing is shared without your action.

Microphone Access

The app requests microphone access only when you choose to record. Recordings live on your device. If Cloud backup is on (the default when signed in), a copy is also stored in your private cloud account so you don't lose it. You can turn this off in Settings → Privacy at any time.

Audio Playback

Default audio content (affirmations, insights, meditations) is bundled with the app or downloaded from our content library on demand. When you type your own content, your iPhone reads it aloud using its built-in voices — no audio is sent to a server for that.

Third-Party Services

We use Firebase (a Google product) for: sign-in, account storage, voice backup, and the temporary sharing feature. We use Apple Sign In and Google Sign In as authentication providers. We do not use analytics, advertising, or behavioral tracking services.

Your Controls

• Turn Cloud backup off: Settings → Privacy → Cloud backup. New voices stay on-device only.
• Delete individual items: any item in the app can be deleted from its detail screen — local and cloud copies are removed.
• Delete your account and all cloud data: email us at team@itssimple.app and we will wipe your account within 30 days.
• Uninstall the app: removes all local data from your device. Cloud-backed data remains tied to your account; sign in again on a new device to restore it, or request deletion as above.

Children's Privacy

Our app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The latest version is always available in the app and on our website. Material changes will be surfaced in-app.
